 A high quality, universal 5 Volt Charger, not just for LG Phones Aug 04, 2011

The same model charger came with my LG cell phone, which I purchased over two years ago. So I've used this model charger for more than two years. I liked it so much that I bought four more to replace the chargers that other family members are using for their cell phones, iPods and MP3 players. There are several features that make this one of the best on the market.
1) The cable that's supplied with the charger is not hard wired into the charger, but connects to the charger through a standard USB Type A connector.
2) At the other end, the cable includes a micro-USB connector, which is becoming the standard connector for the majority of cells phones, and is useful with other cell phone brands besides LG.
3) The cable is also a full USB cable, having both power and data lines, so you can unplug the cable from the charger, and use it to transfer data (pictures, music, etc.) between your cell phone and your computer (some chargers with removable USB cables only have the power line, but no data line).
4) Because the charger body includes a USB Type A receptacle, you can plug other 5 Volt devices into this charger; for example, an iPOD can be charged by simply plugging the USB connector at one end of the iPOD cable into the charger. I have also used this to charge my Sony Walkman MP3 player, which also has a USB Type A connector at one end of the Walkman cable.
5) In general, this is a well made, high quality and universal 5 Volt charger.

I have purchased a number of 'charger/data cables' supposedly for the LG phones, but found that most of them trigger the 'this cable not recommended...' message on the phone. This charger and cable are the genuine article and are free from such messages when plugged into the phone. Truly a deal at this price, compared to the usual price for LG cable/chargers!

Data cable and charger both work with my LG Optimus V. Not all USB cables work with the phone when linked to a computer so I was pleased this did. Looks exactly like what came with my phone.

WARNING: DOES NOT WORK WITH "LG OPTIMUS S" PHONE. The phone's OEM charger is model STA-U12WD. This charger is model STA-U12WR. Had to pick 3 stars because I'm neutral and can't actually rate the charger's performance.

Finding my LG optimus phone when in heavy use sucks up the battery life I would find my self taking the cord and moving it to the car to recharge the battery when it was low, works well but seems that the cord would find itself inside the car when I was in the house and hearing the low battery sound I would have to go to the garage and unplug the cord and bring it back to the electric charger. Ordered 2 of these now i have one for the car one for my luggage and the original stays in the home. Shipping was fast the product is very similar to my OEM charger I recieved with my LG Optimus Virgin mobile phone so it does superb with that phone I read other LG types might need a different one but for me this was excellent. Suited my needs.
